Hardwood Industry Economic Impact Study 2019

In 2019, the Hardwood Industry came together to pursue a much needed economic impact study, led by the Hardwood Federation.  Through the firm Informa Analytics, economic date for the U.S. and all 50 states was gathered and analyzed representing multiple sectors within the greater industry in the following areas:

  • Employment - Jobs supported by the hardwood industry complex
  • Gross Regional Product - The total value added by each step in the supply chain.  This is the summation of labor income, profit, taxes and indirect business taxes.
  • Labor Income - Comprised of proprietor income, employee wages and benefits.
  • Output - Defined as the summation of business revenues and industry sales.
  • Taxes - Paid by the hardwood industry from various sources, including information on income received by Federal, State and Local Governments.
